Understanding the requirements of public safety stakeholders in Texas is critical to ensuring that the state plan delivered by FirstNet meets the diverse needs of the public safety community across Texas. FirstNet has asked the states to collect stakeholder information to be used to develop a plan that addresses operational, financial, deployment and rollout priority for each state.
Ensure that your agency’s needs are included in the plan!
TxPSBP is asking ALL Public Safety Entities (PSE) within Texas to support this effort by completing the Mobile Data Survey by September 15, 2015.
Mobile Data Survey Tool
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) developed a Mobile Data Survey Tool (MDST) to assist with nationwide data collection for broadband planning activities.
The MDST is a web-based platform to collect and share information between local and state stakeholders, FirstNet planners and personnel developing the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN).
TxPSBP is committed to assisting PSEs in Texas with this effort. The survey is comprehensive and requires preparation to expedite completion. We’ve developed several resources to help you prepare and simplify the process.
Excel survey – Download the excel spreadsheet with the survey questions to assist with gathering information prior to completing the MDST. This tool is particularly useful when completing the survey for multiple disciplines/agencies within your jurisdiction.
eLearning course – This comprehensive course provides detailed instructions for every question. It is an excellent tool to review prior to starting the effort or to use as a reference guide if you need clarification on specific questions.
Sample Survey – OEC offers a simple PDF version of the survey questions.
